What&rquo;s the difference between Botox(R), Restylane, and Cosmoplast? - Aria Plastic Surgery

Botox(R) is a purified and very dilute form of the toxin that causes botulism. The drug causes paralysis of muscles and can be used to inhibit action of the muscles that cause forehead wrinkles, crows feet and those wrinkles that form between your eyes when your squint. Botox(R) typically lasts for 3-4 months and is administered with a very small injection in the area to be treated.

Fillers such as Restylane and Collagen are used to plump up areas when fine lines and wrinkles are already established. Again these are not permanent changes but often give a nice change with minimal downtime or trauma.

Botox(R) and the filler products compliment each other and are often recommended in combination with the filler erasing the wrinkle and the Botox(R) preventing it from coming back.

Both Botox(R) and Restylane are available at Aria Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
